“The Sapeurs are a band of men who turn the art of dressing into a cultural statement and abide by a code befitting of the gentlemanly clothes they don so resplendently each morning. Adolophine has teamed up with a group of premier Sapeurs from Kinshasa to launch the ADOLOPHINE: MADE IN CONGO collection featuring bespoke menswear, high-quality travel bags, and briefcases.”
La Sape,
an abbreviation based on the phrase Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes (French; literally "Society of Ambiance-Makers and Elegant People") and hinting to the French slang word sape which means "clothes" or sapé, which means "dressed up", is a subculture centered on the cities of Kinshasa and Brazzaville in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Republic of Congo respectively. An adherent of La Sape is known as a sapeur. The movement embodies the elegance in style and manners of colonial predecessor dandies.
The sapeurs of the Congo and Adolophine brand ambassadors show off our latest collection. The Sapeurs, known for only wearing the best in designer goods are avid supporters of the Adolophine Made in Africa collection featuring bespoke menswear and African print travel bags and briefcases.
